Donald Lee Hoffpauir, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and proud veteran, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Lewisville, Texas. Born on December 31, 1947, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Donald’s life was marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his community.
Donald served honorably in the Air Force, exemplifying commitment and patriotism throughout his military career. His service stands as a testament to his character and devotion to his nation. After the service, he met the love of his life Jana Hoffpauir in 1971, and they later married in 1974. Donald graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Upon graduation and until he retired, he worked as the senior financial controller of several companies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jana Hoffpauir, his cherished daughters, Kimberly Halverson and Kristy Hoffpauir, and grandchildren Sarah Halverson and Isaiah Hoffpauir. Donald loved his children and grandchildren deeply, and he remained actively involved in their daily life right up until the end.
Donald is also survived by his brother, James Hoffpauir, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hoffpauir; and by his sister-in-law, Gloria Hoffpauir, the wife of his late brother, William Hoffpauir. He is further survived by his nephews, Bill Hoffpauir, Richard Hoffpauir, and Brent Hoffpauir, and his nieces Vanessa Salas and Naomi DeLeon. His family bond was a source of great joy and strength for Donald, and his family will carry forward his legacy with deep love and respect.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Hazel Hoffpauir, sister Barbara Ann Hoffpauir, brother William Hoffpauir and sister-in-law Maria Teresa "Terri" Hoffpauir, and nephew Jason Hoffpauir, whose memories he honored throughout his life.
A graveside service to commemorate Donald’s life and legacy will be held on May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. The service will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and all who know Donald to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
Donald Lee Hoffpauir will be remembered for his steadfastness, his dedication to loved ones, and his honorable service to his country. His memory will remain a beacon of inspiration and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
