Obituary

Jim Canada was born on August 13, 1948, at Ft. Monmouth, NJ. He got to Texas as fast as he could at age 3 months. He grew up in Amarillo & at age 14 he moved to Boys Ranch, where he graduated in 1966. He attended Clarendon College & West Texas State University.

Jim spent many years working in West Texas feed yards before moving to the Dallas/Fort Worth area in the early 1990's. He worked in construction & eventually became Safety Supervisor for Pogue Construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed two interesting hobbies. He was a masterful poker player & bred thoroughbred horses.

As a young teenager, Jim recognized his need to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This began his journey of studying God's Word & striving to live the Christian life.

He leaves behind four children, Suzette Klie, Shannon Canada, Mark Canada & Jenny Torres, who gave him several grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

In 2004, Jim married his current wife, Reeta. That union gave him three stepchildren, Brad (Whitney) Parlin, Brent Parlin & Brooke (Tarek) Wallace. They gave him six grandchildren.

He is survived by his sister, Marcia (Lyndie) King & in-laws, Barry (Barbara) Lemay, & Karla (Danny) Clark. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces & cousins.

He was predeceased by Connie Jo Canada (sister) & Shannon Canada (daughter).
